As the name suggests the piezoelectric effect produces signals and these signals are received by the crystals of Lead zirconium titanate. These crystals in turn expand and apply pressure on the ink. The ink is projected out as and when the signals are received. This method has many advantages over thermal printing as it does not depend on heat.
It is more reliable and is extremely useful for printing pages in large numbers. The resolution is also better than the other methods of printing. There are many advantages of digital printing. Conventional printing is more time consuming especially if high volumes of pages are to be printed.
